Featured on Virgo Traders Jewelry Blog

A pair of our earrings was featured on the Virgo Traders Jewelry Blog, a site devoted to featuring a new piece of jewelry each day. The earrings are from a much older collection, but a great piece of jewelry is timeless. The site has tons of older but still stylish pieces, check it out:

2012 Collection Preview

Here's an idea of what's to come in 2012, let us know what you think.

Our Eye Necklaces are Especially Eye Catching

We weren't the only ones who noticed Melissa Gorga wearing one of our pieces on The Real Housewives, beauty advisor Amanda Bell of Dailyfashionista.com did also.

"Everyone is asking where to find such a stunning piece that looks like this! Designed by Michal Golan, this triple chain necklace is 24K gold, with Swarovski crystals. It’s absolutely beautiful! (There is also a bracelet to match) I personally own both and they are by far, my favorite pieces of jewelry."
What a compliment! Thanks Amanda

The Magic Gardens

A couple of Fridays ago, my friend Dorit and I took the bus from New York to Philadelphia to attend the opening of Ilana Shaphir’s show at the Philadelphia Magic Gardens gallery, an art space created by Isaiah Zagar, the “American Gaudi.” Ilana is an 87 year-old Israeli mosaic artist who has been prolific and influential in the field. As a mosaic artist myself, I was in for a double-treat. First of all, the Magic Gardens itself is such a wild and happy place; when you are there, you simply cannot stop smiling. Every corner of the space is infused with humor and joy. Words cannot do it justice, one simply has to visit or at least check out the website at www.philadelphiasmagicgardens.org In addition, Ilana’s art is wonderful and rich, a true delight for anybody interested in mosaic.
Indeed, Ilana’s show was beautiful. I found her work to be very rooted in Israeli history and aesthetics. She uses stones and shells, as well as ceramic tiles to create dreamy Israeli-Mediterranean landscapes. I also love the texture and 3-dimensionality of her work. For those interested in mosaic or in Israeli art, her website is more than worth a visit at www.shafirart.com
My personal hope after having visited is to one day have a show of my own work at the Magic Gardens. Although my own work is very different from Isaiah’s, the core of our project is the same. We both simply want to have people pause and smile.
